Cocktails to be paired with cuisine at ‘A Night in New Orleans,’ Nov. 16 at The Local Joint

Enjoy cuisine and cocktails inspired by The Big Easy during “A Night in New Orleans,” a three-course dinner Nov. 16 at The Local Joint in Rockledge, paired with craft cocktails by The Straw Hat Barmen.

Starting at 6 p.m., to the music of George Grosman and Joe Fritz, you’ll be served an appetizer of fried green tomato over creamy grits and blackened shrimp with spicy Creole sauce; a choice of entree — blackened redfish with seasonal vegetables and broiled red potatoes, or red beans and rice with fried chicken breast — and for dessert, Bananas Foster French toast.

With each course, the Straw Hat Barmen will serve and discuss specialty drinks inspired by New Orleans’ rich cocktail tradition: a Brandy Milk Punch, whose autumnal flavor features brandy and a hint of nutmeg; a Brandy Crusta, with hints of lemon and orange; and the classic rye whiskey cocktail, the Sazerac.

The fee is $65 per person. Reservations are suggested. Call 321-639-4048.
